Piya has also worked as a researcher on an international sociological project that was carried out by Umeå University in Sweden in association with Global Change Research Kolkata. She also shared her knowledge as a temporary visiting faculty member in the Jadavpur University Department of Sociology.
Piya Chakraborty is currently engrossed in her doctoral studies, with a particular emphasis on the Indian Chinese community residing in India. Her particular research interests center on the concepts of food and war memory and how they relate to the formation of Indian Chinese subjectivity.
